With a degree and experience in elementary education, she chose to shift her focus from the classroom to individuals with challenges in language-based learning issues. Seeing bright children lose their self-esteem due to the failure of the education status quo was heartbreaking, and especially frustrating because it’s preventable.

After extensive training and practice, including Rocky Mountain Camp for Kids with Dyslexia, Andrea opened a private tutoring business in 2014, Hardy Tutoring Services. She is trained in several Multi-Sensory Language programs and is working towards certification in the Barton Reading and Spelling method.

Andrea is passionately committed to her students’ success. Getting to know their motivations and passions builds trust with the students and their families. The personal connection, individualized planning, and evidence-based teaching strategies allow students to learn in the special way their brain learns. Each success builds more self-esteem and motivation, leading to more success, gradually healing the emotional wounds.

Andrea loves the outdoors, skiing, kayaking with her daughter, traveling to Alaska to spend time with her son, and most of all, walking her dog Charlie.

Meet Charlie!

Charlie is our students’ therapy dog and best friend in tutoring. He attends all tutoring sessions. He is a good listener, he never sighs or rolls his eyes at mistakes, and he joyfully approves of every word our students read and spell.
